Hi, I’m Julia!

Julia Longchamps is a Maryland based interior designer who has always had an eye for style–from experimenting with color and texture in her home and her closet to testing out new trends and retail experiences.
Table Setting

After earning a degree in Fashion Design at F.I.T. in New York City, she started her career in the sports apparel industry working for a leading global fitness apparel brand. With a full-time role came her first home purchase, a “fixer-upper” that required multiple renovations and interior design projects. This is where Julia found a renewed sense of energy and inspiration and realized she was eager to pursue her passion for interior design.

Julia earned her degree in Interior Design while also juggling motherhood and customizing a new home to fit her growing family.

After multiple courses, two children, and several interim design projects, Julia Longchamps Design was born. Today, Julia leads the Maryland based firm, focusing on high-end residential design projects throughout the region.

In her spare time, Julia enjoys traveling and exploring the great outdoors with her husband, Dustin. When she’s not on the move, she can be found relaxing at her home in Kent Island with a spicy Margarita in hand or taking her son, River, daughters, Iris and new baby Ellie, to the beaches along the Chesapeake Bay.

“ Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful
or believe to be beautiful.”

the reason why

we do what we do

Julia’s passion for Interior Design began when she started a full-time career after graduating college. As a way to unwind after the corporate 9 to 5, she used Interior Design as a creative outlet while renovating her first home. Soon after, she began staging homes for builders in her spare time. Family and friends who visited her home were requesting her help in bringing their own Interior Design visions to life.

Juggling her new passion alongside a full-time career and starting a family was not a sustainable lifestyle. Julia decided to leave the corporate world to pursue a degree in Interior Design, which allowed her to focus on building her dream career while also raising a family.

Today, Julia is lucky to be fully dialed into her passion for design. She loves seeing ideas come to life from the ground up–whether it’s evolving her own home as her children grow up, designing branded corporate studio spaces, or working collaboratively with residential clients to create their dream home.
